Audiotomie 2
Performance presented as part of the 93rd Acfas Congress, 11.05.2026
First presented as a live performance during the opening exhibition on May 11th, this work explores the narratives produced by matter through the recording and amplification of sound. The piece is based on an exploration of natural elements and their sonic qualities, activated live in front of an audience through a spatial arrangement of microphones.
Sound was captured in two ways. During the performance, microphones and a hydrophone amplified the sound of the materials in real time for the in-time present audience. At the same time, clip-on microphones recorded more intimate sound traces, intended for the audience who would later experience the work as a performative installation.
Following the performance, the work continued as an installation during four days. The elements remained evolving in the space, while the sounds captured during the live experience were played on a loop. Without the human presence, the installation preserved a living memory of the performance, allowing it to be told differently each days of the exhibition.
